Resumé

Hanna has really come into her own this year. She went 4 for 4 in UKC/HRC Finished Tests to earn her Hunting Retriever Champion Title. In the spring of 2016, at the age of 4, Hanna earned her Master Hunter title.

Skills

Hanna’s strengths lie in her marking ability and desire to please her handler. Here’s a little more about Hanna:
Drive/Desire: It took a little while to get Hanna totally bought into the hunt test game, but once we did - look out! We created a monster. Hanna lives to run hunt tests! Big leaping water entries are her calling card.   
Build: Hanna is a smaller dog, weighing in at 55lbs. She is gracefully with her movement and is great to have with you in a small blind or on a boat. Her small frame also helps her move around the upland field quickly while pheasant hunting.
Marking: By far Hanna's strongest attribute. I don't know what else to tell you about it, she watches a bird goes down and remembers the piece of grass it fell behind.  
Handling:  Hanna handles like a dream. Her desire to please makes for a dog that doesn't want to fight you - or think she knows better than you were the bird landed.
Hunting: Here at  Drake Creek, we believe a retriever's hunting skills are the most important trait a retriever can have. 2013/14 was Hanna's first season in the field. She picked up pheasants in South Dakota, doves in Nebraska, mallards in Missouri and geese in Colorado.
